Energy Technologies and Sustainable Design
Welcome Message
We welcome you to the website of the Interdisciplinary Master's Program "Energy Technologies and Sustainable Design" (DMP-ETAS) of the School of Engineering of the University of Cyprus. The Interdepartmental Master's Program is offered by the four Departments of the School of Engineering and aims at providing an interdisciplinary specialization in the field of Energy Technologies through the framework of Sustainable Design. The interdisciplinary nature of the master's program enables students to deal with subjects from a wide range of scientific backgrounds and scales of design, simulation and computation and to collaborate with academic staff and fellow students from different scientific disciplines to develop synergies and an integrated development of common goals. Graduates of the program can obtain a comprehensive, integrated and interdisciplinary training in Energy, which is undeniably a subject of increasing importance in contemporary development internationally.

Departments
Department of Architecture
The participation of the Department of Architecture in the interdepartmental postgraduate program aims to develope critical thinking through review and evaluation of the broader concept of sustainability in the built environment. Specific courses of technological emphasis offer expertise in related topics of consolidated and environmental design of buildings in various building scales, from the general building scale up to the construction detail.
Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is involved with research, teaching and technological development in critical areas of energy technologies and energy systems design, with main emphasis on efficiency, optimal and safe operation of electric power grids, but also on study and research in renewable energy sources and their integration in the energy balance.
Department of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering
The Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering offers students to be involved with ‘green’ generation systems, storage, and energy saving the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of basic theoretical and practical issues and stay informed about the latest technological developments in this field.
Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers through this interdepartmental program the opportunity for research and education with the aim of transitioning from the present energy-consuming building environment to a sustainable building environment based on the combination of high energy efficiency of buildings, utilization of renewable energy sources, and energy saving, for optimum human comfort and environmental protection.
